"Twin relationships concern a meeting of two communities declaring a unified cooperation for Europe, in order to overcome their problems and improve the ties of friendship"
In the definition Jean Bareth precised the idea of "twin relationships" and, shortly after the World War II, initiated the wide range ever movement among districts and towns. Those relationships confined with solemn Oaths significantly support the activity of European Self-Government Council which promotes the idea of European unification.
As a part of this undertaking, Pyskowice has established "twin relationships" with three towns: La Ricamarie in France, Czerwonograd in Ukraine and Flörsheim on The Men River in Germany.
LA RICAMARIE
The Twin Partnership Oath was signed on 3rd May 1998 in Pyskowice. The Town of Pyskowice was represented by Town Mayor Alicja Wecel and La Ricamarie by Town Mayor Georges Berne.
CZERWONOGRAD
The Twin Partnership Oath was signed on 16th September 2000 in Pyskowice. The Town of Pyskowice was represented by Town Mayor Jan Turkiewicz and Czerwonograd by Town Mayor Pietro Olijnik.
